Travel to other countries and learn their culture without leaving the building. Christmas time decorations are particularly impressive. Not to be missed.

We visited the Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning while visiting Pitt with my husband who is an alum. We loved it. A great, reasonably priced attraction. The only down side is that people leave the rooms open and non-paying guests wander in and...More

This was part of our Cathedral of Learning tour and really was a surprising WOW tour. The student guide was awesome as were the rooms.

I asked the front desk if any other college/university does this, and he said he doesn't think so. Decorating a classroom to fit a particular country is such a unique concept, and Pitt does this so very well. The price is very reasonable ($4, and...More

Each time I visit Pittsburgh I make a point to visit and bring out-of-town guests who have never been to the Nationality Rooms at the University of Pittsburgh. I most recently visited in late August/early September and before that in March. I recommend paying $4...More

The nationality rooms are really a quintessential part of the many immigrant communities represented in the city. The rooms on the 3rd floor are always open, but the ones on the first floor need a key. They are very strict about not handing out the...More

I am so glad this was recommended to us to add to our visit. Most of the rooms were open to visit and there was information to give you details. You don't need a tour.

We were fortunate enough to stumble upon the 50th Anniversary celebration. In addition to seeing all the rooms, we were invited to enjoy cookies and other treats from around the world, special exhibits, and an occasional performance. It made a very nice experience even nicer.

This is a must see! Each classroom is dedicated to a specific country and the detail is beautiful. I highly recommend a walk through.

I highly recommend another hidden secret of Pittsburgh. For 30 years I have taken visitors to the Nationality rooms and no one was ever disappointed. I recommend contacting them about their policy on pets.
