Although there were times I felt like some history could be dug deeper to make this landmark more impressive..can't blame the museum. And I'm aware to some degree its main idea might not be "history" but a cultural place where the whole family could enjoy..like...More

This is a great museum for anyone interested in local history. You could easily spend all day here- there are huge parking lots adjacent, so parking isn't an issue. It is several floors, so you'll probably want to focus on a few areas or you...More

Loved this 5 floor museum and history of the Heinz family. Interesting floors including the sports floor where they show footage of the Immaculate Reception and other great moments. I didn't know all of the sports events that had taken place in Pittsburgh. If you're...More

My husband and I love the Heinz History Museum. The changing exhibits are wonderful. There is everything Pittsburgh, Sports and Mr. Roger's Neighborhood to explorers and entrepreneurs. Not to be missed the next time you are going to the Strip.

This museum tells the history of Pittsburgh but there are so many exhibits that it becomes too much to absorb. You could spend days here and still not see it all. The gift shop has a cool deck of cards about the Pittsburgh Steelers Hero's....More

Great background on the history of the city of Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. They have lots of things that will take you back if your from the area. You wont be disappointed!

We arrived later in the day than intended and only had 2 hours before the museum closed, which we also expected to be enough time. Absolutely not! It’s so interesting and well designed that you wander the exhibits and don’t realize how long you’re there....More

Great museum and so much to see on 6 floors. Afillated with the Smithsonain Museum, one can see why it merits this designation. It is just 2 blocks north of the Lawrence Convention Center and would be a great, first place to visit in Downtown...More

I had no idea how much Pittsburgh contributed to the 20th century, until I let this Smithsonian-associated museum walk me through it.

I was in town for work and I had a lot of time to kill on Sunday and I dig history so I made the short drive from the Pittsburgh Airport Marriott to the Heinz History Center. The museum is located in a beautifully repurposed...More

At least 2 but you could easily spend up to 5 browsing the exhibits. If you are coming for an event like Italian Day or other special days I would expect to spend at least 3hours.
