There is no easy way to get there from here, straight line, walk this way get about in Pittsburgh. Hence, the inclines. They get you from the top to the bottom of a hill or vice-versa. No muss, no fuss. 3.5 minutes later, max. Viola. You're there. It's not a ride, it's a people mover. Observe quietly and enjoy the... More

Monongahela Incline provides great views of the city. It is fast and not at all expensive. I would highly recommend it to all visitors of Pittsburgh.

As a visitor to Pitt the incline was cool experience. Learning it's history and its use today was interesting. The view is amazing kids love it as well. Fun hour or so to spend in the city.

This incline runs from Station Square to the top of the local hills. The incline itself is part of Pittsburgh history and sort of worth a look for that reason alone. Once on the top there is a great place to overlook the city and the view are spectacular.

This line does take cards. It is close to Station Square and therefore easier to access for many. At the top there are no restaurants in the immediate vicinity -- only signage for businesses near by. Consider taking one incline up, walking at the top to the other and descending there.

I've always wanted to do this incline but someone in the group was always too afraid of heights. The ride is only a few minutes long and is very smooth and slow. Honestly you would have to be deathly afraid to not enjoy this ride. The views are outstanding. Make sure to walk around the neighbourhood as well. Very quaint... More

You can get to the overview location via a car, but taking the 1870 Monongahela Incline enhances the whole experience of visiting the city overview of Pittsburgh. It costs $3.50 for a round trip ticket which needs to be used within 3 hours. We took the incline up close to sunset and the view was beautiful. Then walked around Shiloh... More

A quick excursion, but offers a great view of the city. Sit in the car that looks out over the city going up or down. Absolutely do this at night and if there's a game at Heinz field, even better! Check out the overlook just to the right when you get to the top of Mt Washington.

We went to see Pittsburg from the above, if you are afraid of height, go there after dark 😉 worth the steep climb, and what a way to see town 😉
