Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Bravo Pittsburgh & the Pittsburgh Symphony for re-creating an ornate 1920s movie palace into a spectacular concert hall! It doesn't get better than world-class music in an elegant intimate setting, where renowned performers appear regularly. Conducted by Maestro Honeck, the annual post-Thanksgiving concert with remarkable violin ingenue Noa Wildschut was memorable.

My daughter and I recently attended the Norah Jones concert at Heinz Hall... it was out first visit. The staff were friendly and helpful both af security and guiding us to our seats, which were in the mid section of the balcony. The old charm of the building was astounding. The seating rows are narrow. Acoustics and sound were perfect. Easily accessible parking garage across the street made our visit a poce of cake.

I'm addicted to seeing shows. There. I said it. Big shows, little shows, rock shows, opera....you name it....i go...i love all our local venues as well. Heinz Hall is no exception. I am
there at least a half dozen times a year. There's something that sets heinz hall apart from the others. Heinz Hall is different. It's special. From the marble pillars to the breathtaking chandelliers, this place is visually intoxicating. No matter how many times I visit, I take pictures. If you make it to only one show, make it a Christmas show. The decor alone is worth the price of admission. There are many entrances and they often cater to families with sensory friendly needs as well as state of the art hearing impaired equipment. There are bars on three levels which have pricey choices but they have choices nonetheless. The courtyard is a gorgeous option in the warmer months. It really highlites the city skyline. There is no food other than snack stations. I've seen comedians, rock bands, Opera and symphony shows there. There's not a bad seat. The decor is a mix of old and new. The breathtaking staircase reminds me of the Titanic. Everyone in our city should visit there. We are fortunate to have such a beautiful Hall. I always feel so proud when I'm there. This is a show lovers dream.

Heinz Hall serves as a wonderful tribute to Senator Heinz and his family. The space is beautiful and the acoustics spot on even for a hearing challenged person as I am. We experienced a first rate performance of the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra that featured soloist Francesco Piemontesi on piano.

However, a glorious afternoon was marred with the difficulty one of our party had with accessing her seat. We were seated in the Family Circle section -- very good seats to see the orchestra and soloist. The Family Circle is on a level in-between where the elevators stop. First, she had to go the top of the Gallery and walk down 12 rows of the Gallery and then another five of the Family Circle. Upon leaving, we were told that she had to walk down to the Grand Tier level to access the elevator.

Had I known these facts, I would have opted for seats that would have made the trip more convenient. As I looked around the hall, the average age of the patrons was on the very mature side as many halls offering classical music are experiencing. If structural accommodations can't be made, then the seating plan on the website should note these issues especially for those of us who visit the hall for the first time.

Otherwise, locals are certainly fortunate to have such a venue for its orchestra.

We went to Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer: The Musical on Christmas Eve. The stage and building were stunning. Inside, the Christmas decorations were outstanding. It's a little theatre in the heart of Pittsburgh. Easy parking and lots of restaurants to choose from to grab a quick bite before a performance. I would definitely see a show here again.

Landmark Event Management folks weren't consistent with the types of bags they let through the doors. I was sent back to my car to get rid of drawstring backpack and told my small purse would be fine. Transferred everything to purse, turned away again as it was too large. I had a wallet, keys and hair tie in purse - that's it. Saw much larger purses, kids cooler lunch boxes, etc. Consistency and SIGNAGE before you approach facility would be most hospitable.

I have been to Heinz Hall many times to see many different types of plays/shows. It is absolutely beautiful inside. Especially at Christmas time with the beautiful Christmas tree. I would suggest checking it out if given the opportunity. As in most venues as this some seats are better than others. I like sitting in the very first level (forget the name of it) but depending on who is sitting in front of you can either make or break your enjoyment. My husband and I saw Ghost here in January and it was wonderful.

I went to Heinz Hall to see the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra. I was particularly lucky, because even though it was not my intention, I ended up at Heinz Hall around the holidays. The decor is spectacular, and worth some beautiful photo ops, but the Christmas decor really added to the overall experience, and made my time there that much more enjoyable. The symphony was wonderful, and even though we were in the balcony, we felt as though we had a spectacular view. I would return again!
