Carnegie Library - Main reminds me of the venerable library on Bryant Square in Manhattan, although of course Pittsburgh Schenley park is huge and forested, much more than just a square.

We are full time RVers and visited Pittsburg on our travels eastward. The library is fantastic with many new initiatives designed to provide opportunities for learning to all segments of the community. It has a huge children’s section, a resource room designed for teenagers, another...More

This library fills the visitor with awe. From the marvelous elevation that frames the front steps to the extensive stacks inside, the scope of available knowledge overwhelms. I always peruse the 821s, and there I found that the volumes on Shakespeare did not include half...More

Carnegie Library , named after its benefactor, is in Oakland. It is the main library of the city, next to the Carnegie Museum. There are many buildings in Oakland worth viewing for their architecture and their history.

I want to thank Thomas and Suzanne for all of the help that they gave us in finding information about our ancestors. They are both a wealth of knowledge.

The huge library I've ever seen. Lot of books but also of cds, really carefully cataloguated, lot of dvds too. And on the last floor many books about the story of Pittsburgh and Pennsylvania. Maybe you need to go many times to explore everything!
