Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We gleaned a great historical perspective of this University from our grandson, Jake, who is a student and part of the Pitt football team. He proudly provided us with a wealth of historical information. The Cathedral of Learning building is impressive! How the campus has evolved from the days of The Neal Log House, the oldest existing residential structure in Pittsburgh and one of the last few buildings left on campus. What a wonderful experience it was for us, as grandparents!

Did a self-guided walking tour. They have a number of marked stops throughout. It was quite informative and a nice walk on a brisk day. The campus is definitely urban, but seems safe during the day when we went.

Make sure you go through the Cathedral and check out as many international rooms as you can. The weekend is a good time to go as there are less students and more opportunities to look around. Also go check out Forbes Field while you are there.

My child goes here, not all the staff is pleasant but the campus is big and easy to get around. On Forbes Street there are a lot of eatery. Anything you have a taste for you will find. The towers are bigger in person than pictures. Hope all the kids have a safe year.

Such a beautiful campus! We were visiting Pittsburgh and decided to stroll around the U Pitt grounds. Entering the Cathedral Of Learning was worth it on its own... exquisite!

Do not go there for treatment. I went there for a year and a half to fix all of my teeth. 2k later I had to have everything re-done. Inferior materials used. Craftmanship horrid. It takes three times as long to have any proceedure done. Multiple visits. All for nothing. Prices are not low. Better to spend a bit more to get care from an experienced dentist.

The Oakland campus is actually embedded with some of the UPMC medical facilities (e.g. Montefiore Hospital, Presbyterian, Western Psych, etc). Depending on what you are looking for in a college, there are some outstanding majors at Pitt. Upper campus is obviously newer than lower campus and is near the workout facilities, athletic events and fraternities. Lower campus also houses dorms, the Cathedral of Learning, Student Union, Library, etc. and is near restaurants. Classes are everywhere in between. Make sure you take a walk up cardiac hill if visiting. If school is in session, you will see students hanging out in the green space. Don't forget to visit Heinz Chapel which is right next to the Cathedral of Learning.

We loved this campus! I've been to many different campuses and college tours, and this tour was one of the best. Students were friendly and informative. Campus is very nice, some really great buildings, nice green areas, lots to do and see.
