Beautiful Carousel
Jul 2021
We’ve been trying to get to this carousel for 6 years – we’re so glad we finally made it! What a delightful experience! The carousel itself was made in 1905, and this is apparently the 3rd set of animals it’s holding. These new animals were carved by Ed Roth, a professional carver (see the carousel at Peddlars Village for more of his work), and painted by local people. All did a marvelous job. They also have copies of news clippings about them on the walls, some extra carousel animals to view, and a very nice gift shop that’s worth buying from. The miniature carousel animals they have are actually a very good price at $15. The carousel runs slowly since a lot of small children ride it, but it’s definitely meant for all ages. We found the Indian horse, the tiger and the hippocampus (half horse, half fish) to be particularly well carved and painted. Any artist should examine these animals simply for their artwork.

So it's not all original, but it's still a great carousel to see. This little gem is a minute off Rt 100, easy to find. The ride, about 3 minutes, cost $2, a real bargain. They have some nice displays and exhibits as well. The also have a nice gift shop. You can have parties in the carousel pavilion, and what a treat it would be for a child's birthday party.

5 year old loved it

They gave us an extra round of ride on carousel. We have never been here before, the attendant even helped ease the fears of moving horses for our son. They let us go again since the first ride was full of crying and fear. The staff is excellent. Games and mini golf afterwards. Highly recommend for nostalgic places.

Disappointed
Jul 2019 • Family
I was so disappointed! The Carousel is beautiful; I’ll give it that. I could hardly hear the music. It wasn’t live. I had to ask the teen to turn it up. Part of the Carousel experience is the music. There were only TWO speakers! It was pathetic! And the ride was soooooo slow! I could have gotten off my horse and walked faster than this ride was moving. I won’t be back. If you want to see a beautiful carousel.....come! If you want a fun ride.....skip it!

I was very impressed with the restoration done on this carousel. I watched for years as they slowly put this together. It's only open on weekends and major holidays but worth checking out. There is miniture golf just outside as well.

We have been to the Carousel a few times recently. We went for events. The set up for events is thorough! We got to eat, dance, ride the carousel and have a good time. We have been there for a work party, a sweet 16 and a graduation party. Fun every time! There is a little gift shop there too!

Beautiful place to visit and ride the carousel!

We stopped by just to ride the carousel because we heard so much about it. Now we are planning a private party there! We also bought tee shirts. This is a great place! The work that has been done to complete this historic merry-go-round is just fabulous! What a gem for Pottstown!
