Chanticleer is a real gem. No matter when you go in the Spring or Summer there are incredible flowers in bloom. Also the ponds and Japanese gardens are a real treat. Finally the use of structures adds to the beauty of the arrangements.

Everyone is different with their feet. Wear what you are comfortable wearing. There are hills; there are some rocks. I would say wearing sneakers is your best bet. Save your sandals for the beach.
