Scenic and safe place for a walk
Jul 2021
We were staying overnight in the nearby Holiday Inn. It can be hard to get 10,000 daily steps when traveling so we were thrilled the Susquehanna Riverwalk was close by, scenic, and safe. We walked it evening and again the next morning.

Scenic hiking and biking in Williamsport.
Sep 2020
Susquehanna River Walk and Timber Trails are great for easy hiking and biking. They are well constructed and connected. The trails are on both sides of West Branch Susquehanna River and partly on levees. They create great opportunity to observe the nature and connect with greater network of trails.

Beautiful
Aug 2020
We hikes the north side of the trail two times, once in the evening and once the next morning. This is a really nice trail, all paved and nearly level. The weather was beautiful when we were there as was the river. This will be a new destination for us when we travel to this part of the state.

The path is easy to walk. Get on/off in many different places. Easy access from both sides of the bridge. Beautiful view of the river. Well maintained. Benches for stopping along the way.

Flat, urban cycling with historic markers & great views
Apr 2019 • Friends
Congrats Williamsport for developing this wonderful recreational trail that runs along both sides of the Susquehanna river. It extends further east beyond Riverfront park (a good place to park) and over to South Williamsport. I enjoyed its sweeping views, clean and smooth conditions, and convenient location. More small cities need to do this. If you build it, they will come walking, running & biking.

A great place to walk
Oct 2018
This is a great walk / bike path on top of the dike that protects the city from the west branch of the Susquehanna River. It has history markers that discuss the log boom of the 19th century as well as other local history. a great relaxing scenic walk.

Bit on the noisy side,
Sep 2018 • Friends
I stayed in the holiday inn and express and suites and walked across the highway to get to the walk and we walked east for a few miles along the river was an ok walk road noise is a bit on the high side so dont expect a peaceful walk but get to see the river while you walk.

A "most enjoyable" nature/river walk!!
Jul 2018 • Couples
The walk traverses both the North and South banks of the "Western Branch" of the Susquehanna River. The paved path is used mostly by locals, but tourists would enjoy it equally (or more). It can be accessed year round [be very careful after a substantial winter snowfall] and can be used for walking, jogging, cycling and running. The views of the mountains and forests are very pleasant and also provide a "window" to Williamsport's past links to the forest industries.

I hope that this Review has been helpful.

Too noisy, not enough nature
Jul 2018 • Couples
This should be a lovely walk along the river, but unfortunately, the Williamsport side of the path sits directly next to I-180, which makes it noisy and unpleasant. The South Williamsport side is nicer, but still feels like being in town rather than in nature.
