Established as an assembly facility in 1973, Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York, PA assembles the Touring, Softail®, CVO™ and Trike models. They also perform a variety of manufacturing operations - making parts like frames, fuel tanks, and fenders. At the Vaughn L. Beals Tour Center, you'll explore exhibits that detail the manufacturing and assembly processes of the factory. You'll also have the chance to sit on current production motorcycles and visit the gift shop for tour-related souvenirs. The Kids Corner, a specially designed area for visitors under the age of 12, makes the York facility an ideal family destination. Factory Tours

Very cool to see the factory in operation. You actually have the opportunity to sit on some of the bikes at the end of the tour.

I was impressed with how clean and modern the plant was and that they can manage to have only a 3 hour stock of parts and despite serious traffic in the RTE 30 and RTE I 83 corridor that the production doesn't suffer according to our guide. I have no way of knowing whether our guide did not know the... More

I don't own a Harley Davidson motorcycle but after taking this tour I wanted to buy a trike. We took the Steel Toe Tour. It lasted two hours. I wish it would have lasted at least 30 min more so we could stand and watch the assembly of the bikes at various points a little longer. We received a orange... More

We paid for the Steel Toe Tour and it was totally worth it! Highly recommended for adults. I'm not sure they allow children on the tour because it is an active factory tour and forklifts have the right of way. Amazing to see touring motorcycles come to life!

I operated a group bus trip to York and included a tour of the H-D Factory as a surprise treat. Some passengers were not enthusiastic about visiting a motorcycle factory. But when the tour was finished, they were raving about how interesting it was.

Our family loves a factory tour and this one is done very well. Get there early to assure your spot. You start with a nostalgic short film and then receive safety goggles and an ear piece. You will walk about a mile on the tour and see humans and machines building these beautiful bikes. A softail only takes about 2... More

This on-the-floor tour of an active Harley-Davidson manufacturing facility was informative and interesting. A free guided one-hour tour or a two-hour comprehensive shop floor tour (reservations required for the latter) take you throughout the diffierent stages of manufacturing and assembly of motorcycles. You don't have to be a biker or bike lover to enjoy this experience. Watching the workers, the... More

Unfortunately, I did not see, on their website, that the last tour was at 2:00, so we missed it. Others coming off the tour, though, said that the free tour was excellent! We did go through the museum, which did give an overview of how motorcycles are made, and had plenty of motorcycles on display, on some of which people... More

I am not a motorcycle rider, but I love to see those cycles ride by. When I had the opportunity, I made my way to this factory and did the tour. If you like your average factory tour, then this place will disappoint you. If you enjoy an informative tour, then prepare yourself. You will see a whole lot and... More
