Established as an assembly facility in 1973, Harley-Davidson Vehicle Operations in York, PA assembles the Touring, Softail®, CVO™ and Trike models. They also perform a variety of manufacturing operations - making parts like frames, fuel tanks, and fenders. At the Vaughn L. Beals Tour Center, you'll explore exhibits that detail the manufacturing and assembly processes of the factory. You'll also have the chance to sit on current production motorcycles and visit the gift shop for tour-related souvenirs. The Kids Corner, a specially designed area for visitors under the age of 12, makes the York facility an ideal family destination. Your factory tour begins with an introductory video and continues on the factory floor where you'll get a behind-the-scenes look at the people, processes and products of Vehicle Operations. You'll be guided through the manufacturing of key components and the assembly of Softail, Touring, CVO and Trike motorcycles. Then it's on to the end of the line, where every motorcycle is roll-tested prior to shipping. Over the years, thousands of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts have made the journey to York, Pennsylvania to witness passion forged in steel.

I took my boyfriend as an early birthday gift and he enjoyed his time there. He is definitely more into motorcycles than I am, but honestly, I had a lot of fun too! Our tour guide really knew her stuff and was able to answer all of questions. I honestly didn't expect it to be as much as it was,... More

Very nice factory to tour for ANYONE. Staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. For manufacturing folks, this is a great place to see 5S and TPM principles in action.

We were in York for a college visit and we had some time to kill one afternoon. So we were lucky enough to get into the Harley Museum. I don't want to give too much away because it would spoil your visit but it is well worth it. Even if you don't ride you will still enjoy learning about the... More

It's all about the Hog, the road, the camaraderie with the bike. And, if you don't have a bike it's a living dream. Gift shop is excellent--discount if you take the tour.

Harley-Davidson gives tours of the manufacturing facility which are very interesting if you like motorcycles or manufacturing in general. Be sure to call the plant and check tour times and register if need be. Going early is helpful.

My husband has wanted to go for years . Arrived around 9:15 am. We signed up for the free 1 hour factory tour but there is a specialty tour offered also that will cost. Our guide Barry showed a 10 minute film then had us put on safety glasses and ear phones for him to speak over the factory noise.... More

Thank you so much for your feedback on the tour and for Barry. I wanted to point out that we do have a minimum age requirement of 12 to take the factory tour. More

Very cool to see the factory in operation. You actually have the opportunity to sit on some of the bikes at the end of the tour.

I was impressed with how clean and modern the plant was and that they can manage to have only a 3 hour stock of parts and despite serious traffic in the RTE 30 and RTE I 83 corridor that the production doesn't suffer according to our guide. I have no way of knowing whether our guide did not know the... More
