Visiting markets is always full of surprises, and the York Central Market House is no exception. The building and architecture are awesome, red old bricks and iron frames and structures give a wonderful combination for picture taking aficionados. The variety of food displays is okay but could be better for a city the size of York. Lots of local Amish... More

We love to go here for breakfast or lunch on Saturday. There are many great places to eat as well as shop. You can buy fresh veggies, meat, baked goods, honey, fresh cut flowers, bread ,desserts, wine, and more. Plus there are many boutiques nearby. Sometimes there is live music and it's also open on First Friday usually with live... More

If you are looking for a nice old fashion market to spend some time in this would be one of the markets to visit if you are in York city. Yet it does have up-to-date facilities with a down home feel. It brings back many memories to me as a child visiting it with my family

I remember coming here with my parents every Saturday morning to get fresh produce and meats for the week. The place is not anywhere like it once was. Sure there are a few veggie and meat stands but the majority of occupants are food service type. Lots of cool places to grab a bite to eat. My favorite is Henry's... More

Bird in hand bakery is the best. Fresh vegetables and fruits from local families .it is a shame that they are only opened on Friday's.

If you've ever been to the Reading Terminal Market in Philly, this is the same thing but on a smaller scale. I just love these kinds of indoor farmer's/small business markets. Some of the stalls include fresh fruits and vegetables, homemade goods, small restaurants, candy, wine, fish, or baked goods. We ate at the greek restaurant and the crepe restaurant.... More

I was visiting this old marketplace from NJ so I did like the produce, wines and homemade goods. It is in a very old brick building from the 19th Century. The vegetables are all grown by local farmers and are fresh. Some of the goods are overpriced but I like to support the locals as they have to transport the... More

People are finding out just how good the home made breakfasts are, but we've known for quite a while. Simply the best in town period. NO KIDDING. The produce stands are pretty typical, but that restaurant area is superb.
