Great sand, well maintained and groomed, and good surf. Carry-in, carry-out, no smoking (yeah!), no alcohol, no dogs, no ball playing. Adjacent beach restaurants, shops and amusements with a honkytonk feel. Playground, showers and bathouse. We walked to the beach, but plenty of parking for...More

Came back to Misquamicut to enjoy a walk on the beach. The weather is fantastic. Can't wait for summer to arrive.

Misquamicut Beach has been through a remarkable transformation since Hurricane Sandy. I hate to say it but that was the best thing that could have happened to Westerly.

Love this beach although it was too cold to enjoy it. Large parking lot but it does get crowded in the summer. There are amusements when the kids are tired of the beach. Plenty to do. Will be back this summer.

MQ has been appreciated by families for years. The parking price is a little steep but much better than the Dunes who charge twice the amount. It is very congested by the amenities building but if you are willing to venture further away, it becomes...More

First time to this beach and its so nice. There wasn't much trash or cigarette butts, it made it nice to sit on the beach. There is a nice playground for the youngsters to enjoy.

Clean beach, with awesome wave action! Lifeguards are on duty until about 6pm, then you swim at your own risk. Bath house with showers and snack bar. I've been going for many years. Just keep a good eye on your kids, the waves and currents...More

No horseback riding on state beaches.... there may be other areas that allow horseback riding on parts of the coastline, but I do not know of them.
