Along the beach in Watch Hill, Rhode Island is a lovely strip of shops, eating bistros and an old children's carousel. It makes the children laugh and grab mom and dad's hands to pull them toward a perfect place of joy. Great sights and sounds in a place of perfect beauty.

Took our grandkids to the Flying Horse Carousel. Brought back memories from when we took our own kids as well as when we were kids. Horses are beautiful and it is a step back in time.

This antique Flying Horse Carousel is always an exciting treat for the young ones. Fun to try to get the rings.

Fantastic historic carousel. The side paintings are very special. And, yes, the children can catch the brass ring too!

My 3 year old had a blast! He was too nervous to collect the rings but he was all smiles! It was his first time riding alone. The prices were great too!

Built in 1876 by Charles W. Dare this Looff carousel is the oldest running flying horse design in the country. Abandoned in 1879 by a traveling carnival this attraction has been a mainstay of Watch Hill ever since. This carousel originally powered by a horse pulling the flying horses around the circle also had a hand powered organ. The local... More

The kids(7 and 9) really enjoyed this old fashioned carousel. The rings were the best. Very cheap and in a beautiful location.

We visited this historic attraction over the 4th of July weekend and I enjoyed watching my young daughter ride this charming antique ride. She didn't get the brass ring but she did get the treat of seeing TS jog past us as we waited in line to ride the Carousel. So much fun.

This carousel is a National Historic Site. The only flying horse carousel. The kids get to try to get the brass ring for a free ride. Outside horses are 1.50 and inside are 1.00. Tiny tikes can't ride. If you are 5ft. or 100lbs. you cannot ride. These horses are recently restored. Staff is friendly and helpful. Located next to... More
