The amount of history in here is astounding. I didn't expect the exhibits to go into such detail and really enjoyed seeing the artifacts that were displayed. Don't expect it to be just an in and out deal if you want to see everything.

Kids Section and Natural History Section were a bit hit with my little ones. The other exhibits were great local tidbits for tourtists without a lot of knowledge about Charleston and I wold have loved to spend more time on them but I was chasing...More

You'll hear the oldies say that, "The Old Museum was better." It's true. The old museum was absolutely jam-packed with artifacts and exhibits, with stuff tucked away in every corner. That being said, this museum isn't too shabby. It tries to carry on the legacy...More

Very historic museum. Displays are set up so you can walk thru time. There is an elevator if you need one. Something too see for every one. It takes a good couple of hours to go thru. Worth the time to see, for all ages.

This museum has a very nice mix of local history, including the Civil War, of course, and natural history. It is not too big and is a great place to visit on your tour of Charleston.

My 5.5 year old daughter LOVED this museum, which boasted everything from natural history exhibits such as dinosaur bones to historical Civil War artifacts to a lovely children's section, with coloring and tracing and plenty of hands-on activities. We had a 3 p.m. flight and...More

This modern and well laid-out museum contains exhibits of varying types by local artists. The quality of these works is high. My wife and I bought tickets at the city visitor's center that allowed entry into two different city sites and saved us on entry...More

We did the museum in about 2 hours and we love history so we took our time. The house tours didn’t take very long you could definitely hit a few.
