Honestly, the church is pretty and all. But it is free and the air conditioning was amazing. When out walking in the middle of the summer stop in enjoy the peace and quiet and that cool cool air.

This is a gorgeous cathedral. The stained glass and vaulted ceilings are stunning. It's humbling to walk into such a beautiful space. Not something to miss when visiting Charleston.

The cathedral is worth a visit. They offer tours at certain times; however, our visit did not coincide with a tour. Just walking through it will be impressive.

Of the many beautiful and historic churches in Charleston the Cathedral of St john the baptist has to be one of the most impressive.
