We typically check out aquariums on trips. This venue explores the many eco systems of South Carolina. The staff are very welcoming and informative. Make sure you feed the sting rays, worth every penny. We spent about an hour and a half or so and enjoyed our visit. Parking is convenient and reasonably priced.

Visited with our two children in their early 20’s. Spent a couple of hours exploring, snapping photos, and interacting with some of the inhabitants. The employees were very friendly, and the extra $5 to feed the rays was totally worth it! A fun time was had by all, and reminded me of times we had done this type of thing when they were little.

I visited the aquarium this weekend with my family and was amazed at how clean the building was. The bathroom especially. I was extremely satisfied with the precautions that were taking place to protect everyone from the corona virus. I spoke with a cleaner, Loretta and expressed how great-full I was with her work.I highly recommend the aquarium as a fun place to go with your family that is also safe.

The aquarium has a parking garage (pay-to-park) but it is a fair distance from the aquarium itself. It is an AZA (Association of Zoos and Aquariums) member, but it is not a reciprocal member so they do not honor AZA discounts (usually at least 50%). After going through the admission process (about $30 for an adult), you walk up a ramp to the ray pool and get to see several of them swimming around. After that you enter the main aquarium and go up an escalator (or elevator) to the second floor and are greeted by a bald eagle (what else would you expect in an aquarium?). After that there are fish (including sharks, jellies, sea horses), turtles, frogs, lobsters, and more. There are pictures of many of the species so you can play "Where's Waldo?" as you watch them move about the tanks. There is dining and a gift shop. COVID-19: the employees were all masked and visitors were expected to be masked and maintain appropriate social distance from each other. They also request you purchase a timed, dated online ticket to control the number of visitors in the aquarium.

This was the first thing we toured. Loved the huge tank and sat for a long time watching all the fish and turtle. Had some unusual displays like a bald eagle. Was well worth the Admission.
