Description:

This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about!...

This private 2 hour boat adventure is what Charleston is really all about! I'm a native captain, so we'll glide through the uncrowded backwaters of the most pristine estuaries in the country. We'll learn to harvest oysters, catch shrimp and identify local shore birds. Next, we'll find the Bottlenose Dolphins. Having them swim next to the boat is exciting, but if we find them feeding in the shallows it's spectacular! Our next destination is Morris Island where I'll teach you about its rich Civil War history as well as my own family ties to it. We'll then walk its shores looking for shells and artifacts as the sixth oldest lighthouse in the nation serves as our backdrop! So as you can see we have something for everybody on this trip. The dolphins are always here, the beach is loaded with shells, and if you listen hard enough you just may hear the roar of cannons from the past. So come on and join me! You never know what washed up the night before...

My husband and I did this tour on a Friday afternoon. The tour guide was knowledgeable about the local ecology and history. He was friendly and easy to get along with.

Excellent time on our private tour of Morris Island! Gresh has a lifetime of experience and love for the area that shows in the tour he gives- he's showing you his playground, not telling you about something he read somewhere. We had a great time, and recommend you give him a call!

We had a family two hour boat trip to Morris Island. Gresh, our 'captain' was great - his knowledge and passion for the area was infectious and, as an 8th generation local, his stories were really interesting. We thoroughly enjoyed collecting shells and other items and seeing Morris Island first hand with its Civil War history, lighthouse and location of... More

On a foggy winter day, Mr. Gresh M. III gave us a tour like only a long-time local could do. It was a no-frills, no fuss, down-home good time. He knew plenty of local history, environmental science, aquatic life, historic preservation efforts for the light house: savethelight.org, and lore to keep anyone entertained from the youngest to the oldest. He... More

Gresh is the perfect individual to have answers to much of the history and nature in the low country; having Gresh as a charter captain only makes it more exciting! As a birthday surprise for my fiancee we really didn't know much of what this experience would be like. Our captain is one with the the land and water knowing... More

We had a wonderful trip with Captain Gresh. The boat ride was a blast and we loved seeing the Lighthouse and spending time on the beach looking for shells and artifacts. Highly recommend this trip for all.

My wife and I took our 3 grandchildren on a ARSC tour with Captain Gresh and it was a fascinating tour that took us " behind the scenes of historical Charleston area". We found the Captain knowledgable of the history and ECO system and would highly recommend this charter for anyone looking to avoid a cattle call tour.

Gresh, was beyond AWESOME! He was knowledgeable, friendly, patience, well spoken. He taught us of habitats of the Ocean, the history of Morris Island, and the light house! He also has strong roots that makes it so more intriguing and so fun! Then Morris Island has sooooo many sea shells and sharks teeth, star fish just a true great experience.... More

Just took my family on an hour & half + tour of Morris Island and the Lighthouse with some shelling and Dolphin spotting. Captain Gresh was wonderful. He''s an 8th generation local who knows and happily shares all of the local history and interesting facts, and there were Revolutionary and Civil War battles all over, it's Charleston after all! We... More

We loved our day exploring with Captain Gresh! He is so personable and shares history of the area, the ecosystem and his family heritage. It is so interesting that you can't believe how quickly a couple hours can pass! Our favorite part of the tour was hunting for artifacts on Morris Island, where we scored some amazing finds. Between the... More
