Marion Square is about as centrally located on the downtown peninsula as it can be, close to high end shopping along King Street, the historic Francis Marrion Hotel overlooking it, and within blocks of the Visitor Center .... It is a main venue for the Southeastern Wildlife Exhibition with kids activities, the raptor show, lots of space for local animal... More

Weekends local artists set up their goods - very nice. During the week the park is crowed with locals and tourists checking out the area. Unfortunately, demonstrators have claimed the park too often complaining about whatever, destroying the peace and calm of a local, historical land mark.

Marian Square is the center of many festivals all year long. It is also the site of the Farmers Market in season. This is the weekend of the Southeastern Wildlife Expo. There are tents with exhibits all over Marian Square. There are also many flight exhibitions. Food is available for purchase. This is a great place to visit even if... More

Enjoy Marion Square when nothing is going on or enjoy when the many festivals are there. Good times, enjoy good people. A must!

The Marion square is central to much that goes on in Charleston. Besides the Farmer's market every Saturday, there are many events and festivals that take place there. It was formerly the marching grounds for the Citadel, but has since become a well used, active city park.

Many of the historic district hotels are near this lovely park, complete with large grassy areas for lounging, playing frisbee, or sitting by the cool fountain.

We visited just after Christmas & there was a lovely lighted tree in the park, with lots of smaller lit trees and one incredibly lit palm tree. There was a Chanukah celebration, activities at New Years and lots of free space for young ones to race around. In addition, it is another historic area, with the old citadel building, now... More

Walking back from dinner we cut through Marion Square. We really enjoyed how nicely it was lit up for the holiday season.

I love the fountain at Marion Square. It's a beautiful place, and if you are able to catch the market or a movie on the square it makes for a grand day.

Marion Square is beautifully decorated at Christmas, including a walk-through lighted Christmas tree!
