- Paul MCharleston, South Carolina38 contributionsGreat place to watch a baseball gameGreat place to watch a game of baseball. Itâs not major league, but it is the ânational gameâ played by professionals in a great and affordable location. Itâs too bad, but ubiquitous, that the P A system is intent on being the entertainment, rather than leaving it to the game (âThatâs entertainmentâ ?). Thanks Joe, for this lovely ballpark.Visited April 2023Travelled as a coupleWritten 13 April 2023
- Karin H6 contributionsDon't missThis was an immediate favorite spot that my daughter (18) & I went to each morning to relax, drink our iced coffee, and read. The park is beautiful with many benches for sitting. Lots of families & people walking their pups. Great place for pictures. Beautiful historic homes. Very clean.Visited April 2023Travelled with familyWritten 25 April 2023
- Deanna E4 contributionsBreathtaking viewsThere were breathtaking views of the harbor, Fort Sumter, and Mount Pleasant Point. The fountains were refreshing and well-maintained. However, be careful exploring the area after a rain storm, lots and lots of large puddles!Visited July 2023Written 11 July 2023

The Waterfront park is a must see/stroll while in Charleston. It's right on the water with lots of trees, benches, and fountains. You'll get some great photos here. If the Carnival Sunshine is in dock, then you'll see that from here as well as crew members hanging out in the park enjoying a break from the ship.

Pretty little park right on the water. There was a homeless person sleeping on a bench - wasnât interfering with anyone as there were plenty of other places to sit. You donât seem to see them South of Broad. Nice shaded way to walk south.

Good place for a stroll. Public restrooms nearby as well. There is a pier and informative plaques for tourists. I love the pineapple fountain.

Unexpectedly stumbled upon the pier here and ended up spending a really relaxing morning here, just sitting on the bench swings enjoying the breeze and sunshine and quiet. If you're looking for a quiet space to just relax and soak in the view of the water - definitely check this out.

We had a little time to spend and this waterfront park was ideal. There are swings next to the harbor on the public pier. The pineapple fountain was also a hit! Public restrooms and parking are nearby.

Old Exchange Bldg. is on Broad St and East Bay. About a 4 block, 10 minute walk to the park.

It is a City of Charleston park, so there are definite restrictions. I'd call the city and ask. Parking can be a problem, and there are always LOTS of tourists, so any sort of privacy will be difficult. Not so sure if you could "rope off" any section.

we will only be in Charleston for one day. What should we do and where should we eat that isn't too expensive?

Oh, and since you'll be at the Market anyway, might as well stroll through there. It really shouldn't take more than an hour to do that, and that's stretching it.
