I have lived in the Charleston area (Mt. Pleasant) for 11 years. I had some guests from out of town and decided to take this tour with them. I was very pleasantly surprised. Hoon Calhoun is quite the character!! He is the ultimate story teller and quintessential Charlestonian. His love and knowledge of the area is evident. The food was... More

We had amazing amazing food and learn so much interesting information about the city of Charleston. This was an extremely worthwhile tour I had an 11,12 and 15-year-old with me they all loved it as well Definitely a highlight for us. We will definitely revisit the restaurants we went to on the tour

Well, it all started at the Cumberland Smoke House. Such a great place for pure barbecue. More importantly, this is where Glenn our Guide spun his yarn and t was a very good plan. We walked to and through, sitting in 5 of the 6 restaurants, bistros and dessert shoppes we visited. Great foodie, almost always of local styles and... More

I have been on several culinary tours throughout the US. This tour was the by far the best I've EVER had! The food was amazing and we ate so much that we hurt ourselves and that was not my experience on any other tours. Hoon Calhoun is a gifted and talented guide. He gave us an insight into the history... More

My husband & I took the Downtown Charleston Culinary Tour in February 2017. From start to finish, the tour ran about 2 hours and we covered about 0.25 mile of ground. We stopped at four locations and had enough food to satisfy anyone for a full meal. A total of 8 people (including ourselves) were on the tour. All food... More

We were a party of 4 ranging from 24 to 32 years old and have all lived in Charleston for 20+ years. Even though we'd been to 3 of the 4 restaurants, we got to try new things, heard more about the thought process that went into making each dish and learned a little more Charleston history. The only downside... More
