A real post office is in an old building and, oddly, closes for lunch. Stuck waiting to buy stamps I wandered into this small free room at the back. Most interesting old letters, stamp cancelling devises, and postal uniforms of bygone days. It only takes...More

There’s a bit of cool history in the real post office building. Set in the back it’s open to walk right in, it’s free and opens at 11:30 am. Worth a quick visit while on Broad St.

This is a small museum inside a post office and it has a long and varied history, among it the civil war period, or the war between the dtates as my friend would call it. A must see.

Small exhibit in a real post office. Of interest were the confederate letters and postage. Less than 1/2 hour to view all.

Tucked beside the post office at the Four Corners of Law (Broad & Meeting St) is a one room museum.....totally free.....with loads of exhibits explaining the early history of our postal system. Easily worth a half hour to take a trip back in time.

This museum was filled with lots of artifacts and reproductions that give you great insight into the importance of a functioning post office. It very well-documented the struggle during the Civil War when the change from the United States Post Office to the Confederate states...More
