Went for a walk the first night in town and spent some time here under the bridge. Nice safe area day or night.

This is a "MUST DO" when in Charleston, SC. The view is absolutely stunning! Watched cargo ships, a cruise ship, container ships, a group of 20 sail boats that looked like toys from the bridge height, etc. The grade of the walkway is around 3-4%, walk at a comfortable pace. There is a lane for walkers & joggers and another... More

Wanted to walk bridge last year but injured foot. Finally had the chance to walk it yesterday with friends. We walked from mount pleasant to the ramp going into charleston and back. (5mi.) the view was breath taking. Cargo ships going by and many small vessels out for a sail. You could see the charleston harbor on one side and... More

Convenient to visit Mount Pleasant and the islands from Charleston. The traffic moved fast and made our visit to Sullivan's Island a pleasure.

It took a fight with bureaucrats, but the people of Charleston prevailed, insisting that the new Ravenel bridge must have a pedestrian way. It required reworking all of the engineering, but the result is a wide, 2.5 mile long, walkway for pedestrians, joggers, runners, and cyclists from one end of the bridge to the other, or five miles round trip.... A very impressive structure, much more so than one might presume. Driving into downtown Charleston on Rt 17, you will cross the bridge leading into downtown. The view from the bridge is very spectacular.
