Took a very informative and enjoyable carriage ride through some of the lesser visited areas of Charleston pulled by a horse named Mr. Trump. I always learn something new with each tour. But the best part of the experience was the time we spent in the barn talking to one of the young managers while we waited for our official... More

Best carriage tour in Charleston This was a wonderfully fun and informative tour of the historic downtown Charleston area. We learned all kinds of interesting things and saw all the beautiful and original downtown historic homes of Charleston including some of the first ones built. Tour ran almost exactly an hour and had plenty of time and stops for beautiful... More

The carriage tour was nothing short of amazing! One great hour filled with history, beautiful photo opportunities and humor from our wonderful tour guide Bill. If you're in town, definitely swing by for a tour and hope or request Bill as your guide!

We opted for the private to her as we noticed the group we were going to be in had about six children. Our carriage driver was very informative funny and brought the city to life as how it was back in the 1800s. Very good time and he answered all the questions I had. I would recommend it. Our driver... More

We have recently moved to the Charleston area and have already delighted our visitors twice with carriage rides with Palmetto. Easy to make reservations, knowledgeable & interesting drivers & great mules make this a tourist not-to be missed activity. So much fascinating history & scenery.

Ignore any negative reviews - you will not regret this ride. Our guide Van was charming and knowledgeable, and had the perfect blend of history, architecture and personal anecdotes about growing up in Charleston. We were driven by Richard, who was training a new horse, so we were lucky enough to see exactly how the animals are trained and the... More

Thanks for the 5 star review. Van is a top-notch guide who really knows the history of Charleston, and Richard is the best when it comes to training our animals. Palmetto is lucky to have both of them! We appreciate you touring with us and we would love to see y'all again. Deb Jennings PCW Guest Services More

Milhouse is the best and is the favorite of many, but then again, all of our animals are the best and the favorite of many! Justin gives a great tour and is very thorough in the telling of Charleston's captivating history. We appreciate you touring with Palmetto and we would love to see y'all again. Loved hearing about the history of Charleston and getting to see it as one would have in the 1800's - by carriage. The driver was very informative about the history and nature of the carriage company, particularly the rules in place about the treatment of the mules and horses, which was important given all the signs up in windows protesting...
