We passed by this gallery and decided to go in. We were greeted by the director, Frank Conrad Russen. The gallery was getting ready to mount a new art exhibition. On display were paintings, sculptures and crystal works by contemporary American and international artists. The gallery is well lit and the art is beautifully displayed. There is a Plexiglas square... More

This is a wonderful gallery on Meeting Street near the Gibbs Museum. Numerous artists are represented, including some locals. There are many beautiful paintings on the walls. There are also some interesting views in the floor of the gallery. Towards the back the floor is open with plexiglass to view the remains of the old privies from history. Old bottles... More

I went to see Geoffrey Johnson's work specifically. I knew it way way way out of my price range. Nevertheless the front doors remained open and the staff was relaxed. Thanks for a positive experience!

We were wandering about Charleston and knew of this gallery so we decided to stop in. I really love unique galleries that show pieces that are special but not pretentious. Just cool stuff. nice and pleasant walk down artful lane. Enjoy the visit.

This gallery has a variety of art styles. There are shows that include women in art as well as specific artists. The gallery participates in the French Quarter Art Walk so you can visit during the Friday night events. There is also some unique history in the building itself. In the middle section of the gallery, there are glass viewing... More

Go and see what some of the best artists anywhere have created showing in this fine gallery with super lighting and a unique floor plan that offers highlighted paintings, sculpture and more. Knowledgeable staff and a great location.

Art galleries line Queen Street, Church and King Streets in Charleston. At a recent visit we trudged up and down, in and out, enjoying everything we saw. But when we stepped into Principle Gallery, we knew we'd entered the holy grail of galleries. We truly felt we should whisper in the presence of such wonderful artwork, but were quickly disabused...
