Centrally-located seat of SC government is popular with residents and tourists alike. Always visitors on-site-- frequently to take wedding photos. Understand tours are available, but ok to admire the building, grounds and history from outside, too. Well located close to restaurants, bars and USC.

The grounds were gorgeous. I loved the recommended walking trails, and the public sculpture tucked in between the buildings.

The State house should be of great interest to kids but ONLY if it is in session. Then it is great to see governing in action and the term lobbying takes on a new meaning when seen live. Make your plans accordingly.
