I happened to be in town when the museum had an Andy Warhol exhibit. It was so good! They even had an area where you could take a selfie and send it in for a competition in the Andy Warhol area. When we were done, we want upstairs and saw the regular exhibits. It was a very good collection where... More

I wasn't expecting much when visiting the museum. That said, the museum has a surprisingly comprehensive collection: European to Asian collections; various paintings from different era, good selection of furniture and sculpture. Nice good museum shop as well. I spent a couple of hours at the museum and it was the right amount of time for me.

The museum isn't very big, but they have some nice pieces. Our biggest turnoff was that it seemed fairly pretentious. Both the person at the front desk and one of the docents that we ran into seemed kind of snooty, which was a major turn off for us. About two weeks after our visit, we went to the Dali Museum... The Columbia Museum of Art is small but offers many interesting exhibits. They always have a special limited time exhibit that ranges over many different topics ranging from Egypt to Norman Rockwell. It is a great place to visit to relax and slow down a bit.

It's not a very large museum, but the collection is not bad at all! And it's free on a sunday, so when you're visiting Columbia there's no reason not to visit!

I hadn't planned to go to this museum,I was looking for the museum at the college but parking is crazy in that town and so I ended up here simply because I could find an empty parking spot. I lucked into a free visit due to a generous patron and I suspect because the museum only had the 2nd floor... More

Not all that big but nice collection of art that was well presented. Not busy when we were there so you had plenty of time to look at things.

This is a small museum with some very interesting ancient artifacts. A lot of Italian religious pieces.

On the day we visited only the regular exhibits were open. Though it is not a very large collection it is very nice. Some of the furniture was really wonderful. It was a nice place to spend a couple of hours during our visit to Columbia. We travel extensively and have visited many small and medium sized museums. This was... More

Very small compare to those in major cities. However, there is always different nice exhibit on display. It is located on the revitalized Main Street of Columbia with nice restaurants and shops. It is close to Finlay park, river front park, historic state house, historic homes and theaters, university of south Carolina, as well as night life in the vista... More
