We were guests of the Melrose area renting for a week. My husband, BIL and nephew went to the clubhouse to sign up for a day of golfing 18 holes, with a cart, renting clubs - it was not going to be a cheap outing. When they went in to sign up they were told that they cold make reservation,... More

My first visit to Hilton Head Island and I was excited to add a trip to Dafuskie Island and a round of golf to the itinerary. It doesn't come cheap -- for my wife and I we paid $90 plus $20 tip for round trip ride on an H20 Sports zodiac ride from Harbour Town, and $128 for 2 greens... More

I payed 18 holes on June third, and had a great experience. I called the day before to setup a round and had no problem getting on the course. I was coming from Hilton Head, so I needed a water taxi. That ran me $45.00. The cost of 18 holes is $65.00. This and the cost of the water taxi... More

Visited on November 5th and used H2O Sports for transportation. We were picked up at the dock in their Mercedes van and transported to the course. Only 12 people played the course on this day and 10 of them were on our boat ride over. The course layout is outstanding! Challenging and scenic. The conditions were poor but for $64... More

Although I did not get a chance to play Melrose, I did walk a few of the holes and all I can say is it looked perfect. Clean and very well manicured.

Two of us had a wonderful round of golf on Daufuskie today. We made a tee time with the golf resort and then called the water taxi service they recommended. The water taxi left Harbortown, Hilton Head and only took 15 minutes. The assistant pro picked us up from the dock and drove us to the course. We never ran... More

Played Melrose on April 20th. We were met at the clubhouse by the Staff and were quickly set up to play a round of golf. Having played the course about 5 time, that latest was around 2007. This was one of my top 3 courses ever played! Since about 2008 this course has had money trouble but somehow they keep... More

Played a round in early April 2015 while staying at Bloody Point. Arrived at Pro Shop just before 8am and place was all but deserted except for the pro and one of the course staff. Hit balls at the range for about 30 minutes, insect repellent is a MUST as there are a lot of gnats from the ocean/marsh area.... More

A friend and I came to Daufuskie in late March for 3 days of photo ops, and were introduced to the Melrose area by local guide Ed Campbell. As luck would have it, it was nesting season at the little island rookery near the Melrose Inn, which is currently undergoing renovations. There were dozens of nesting wood storks, snowy egrets,... Its truly unfortunate that this place went belly up some years ago but boy the gems that are hidden there....!!! It is so untouched and simply gorgeous. From the golf grounds to the whole Melrose area. I only spent half a day exploring the island and immediately started planning a mini vacation to stay here for a little. Due to... More
