Because of the mixed reviews we almost skipped Folly Beach and that would have been a HUGE mistake. First, we thought Folly Beach was just the beach. Wrong! It’s a beach community. You can make a day of your visit. There was plenty of eateries...More

We went there with 4 adults and 6 teenagers. I did see people drinking (like all the beaches) but not openly. They would pour it into cups. Atmosphere was awesome. We decided to go last minute so we took a Lyft from our hotel. Best...More

Beautiful beach for all to enjoy. We fished from the pier and found shells walking on the beach. Kids and I had a great time.

Beautiful Beach! I wouldn’t say it was family friendly. There was trash on the beach, people openly drinking and being very loud. Plus it was super crowded. When out on the end of the pier it was beautiful and we really enjoyed that part!

Great beach to visit, beautiful scenery but be ready to set up your chairs next to a lot of people. Small waves so good for small children.

I’ve seen prettier beaches, and this one was very crowded. Just not my personal favorite. At least the breeze was nice.

It's a basic beach, there are lifeguards, I didn't see a public bathroom, which was difficult with a toddler. Parking can be found on the street or in private lots for a few. I think we paid $15 and were super close.

We came here every day for a week while we were visiting Charleston. It’s a clean beach as a result of (in my opinion) of their strict rules. They take pride in the beach here, so no glass, plastic, must carry out all trash -...More

Easy parking and many places to sit. We recommend Folly Beach Crab Shack. Downtown Charleston is great after a day at the beach.

there are a few places at the pier on Folly Beach that have chairs you can use. If you stay at the Tides hotel they have chairs and umbrellas available to their guest; I'm not certain if they rent them to the public. there... More
