Lots of fun, but unorganized

I had called about wake boarding to get info (need reservations, okay for beginners?). I was told reservations were not needed and that there is a beginner course.

When we got there, we found a lovely lake with shade all around. There is an obstacle playground in part of lake, two wake boarding cables and a separate lake where you can water ski or do a banana tube boat ride. There is also a frisbee golf course which looked fun. There was practically no one there.

Each section of the lake seems to be run separately and you need to fill out a waiver for each park. The waiver process takes forever. There is only one iPad and a waiver needs to be completely filled out for each person. There was a family of five in front of us - took forever and then we are a family of five. Then, we were told the beginner wake boarding course was broken (for days...girl I had talked to in morning didn’t know this?), life jackets seemed to be missing....

After getting through this confusion (everyone was nice) our family had a great time wake boarding. The guy running the cable gave instructions and was helpful. The lake was great.

All in all, a great time. Nice to have the lake all to ourselves. Just know that checking in can be frustrating.

I am a local resident, I found out about Trophy lakes about 10 years ago. I try to get there at least once a week just to enjoy the calm relaxed surroundings and watch the activities. Its a hidden jewel just around the corner. The little beach and swimming area are awesome to sit and relax, you can take a refreshing dip while watching the wake boarders practice. I bring my puppy to swim with me . Its a great place in every way. The people are friendly and we always feel welcome. Give it a try, you will be hooked. Thank you!!

Great Outdoor activities, Water ski, wakeboard, disc golf
May 2016 • Friends
This place is by far one of the coolest places in charleston sc. Its a hidden treasure for outdoor enthusiast. They have Wakeboarding Cable park, a ski lake, and one of the best disc golf courses I've been too. The staff and Customer service is awesome, very knowledgeable wakeboard / ski instructors and if you need help or advice on the disc golf course, they won't hesitate to help you out. A chill, family fun environment. Highly recommend checking this place out!

Birthday gift for the hubby!
Aug 2015 • Family
It a nice quiet lake. Everyone is laidback and very nice and helpful. We played disc golf first which was fun for the kids. My husband did wakeboarding and they let kids and I go on the boat to watch him. The driver of the boat was super nice and helpful. My husband had a great time. We hope to get the kids into it. Something fun to do besides go to the beach or eat.

Really Cool and Different
Jul 2014 • Friends
We visited Trophy Lakes today to see their first water festival and check out what the place is like. What a cool place!!! They teach all sorts of water sports here. There are cables to help train people, instead of just boats. We will definitely be back next year for the festival and be better prepared - chairs and bathing suits!!! There was about 8 food trucks, a DJ, bands, swimming area, chance to try kayaking, SUP and wake boarding for free - just get in line. They also have the coolest, best laid out disc golf course we've ever seen. I think we'll also be back when we have visitors that would like to try something new and exciting.

The world best Slalom Lake
Aug 2013 • Solo
This is a great place for slalom skiing! If you aren't into skiing, there is a cable system for wakeboarding, learning to ski and other water sports. They also have a disc golf course. They have MasterCraft boats and your skiing will improve with the fantastic surroundings as the conditions are like no other

Day camp is not what I remember
Aug 2013 • Family
While we were in Charleston SC my daughter attended Trophy Lakes summer camp for one day. She had never been on a wakeboard. The camp instructor told her what to do and she was up on her first attempt to ride a wakeboard. They had fun play disc golf, riding kneeboard as well as play on a paddleboard. I did not give 5 stars because the cable did not work the whole time she was in camp. She had a great time overall.
