Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Nice outdoor space, plenty of walking trails through the maritime forest and marshes. A pleasant way to spend a Sunday walking our dog.

Great place to spend an hour or so walking around enjoying the intracoastal waterway and trails. There is even a spot to hang a shell with your family name on it. Kids seem to enjoy it however with our stormy season they disappear and next year we add another one. Lots of places to walk around and enjoy and picnic tables and portable bathrooms should the need arise. Place is well kept and we are thankful to have it in our neighborhood. Consider making a donation as there is no entrance fee

What a contrast to the noisy, crowded, commercial Myrtle Beach scene. Vereen is quiet, beautiful and peaceful.

Nice paths to walk. Raised deck walkways on intercoastal. Peaceful to sit and watch the boats go by. Great views.

This place was recommended to us, so we went, not really knowing what it was. Well, now we do and we'll recommend it to others. It's a quiet, family-oriented woodland park on the waterfront. With easy walking trails, picnic spots, lots of parking, porta-potties (if needed), this is an ideal destination for a family outing. Don't hesitate. Just go!

We thought this was a very nice place for a quiet hike through the woods and over the boardwalk. We ended up at a beautiful lake. We really enjoyed all the trees loaded with seashells - put there by visitors. We had never seen anything like it, so added our own, of course. There was a park there at the end of the trail and children played on the playground. There were also bathroom facilities in the park. Then we headed back pretty much the way we came but veered off on another trail part of the time. We would recommend this for anyone who wants a delightful easy hike. (I think we were following blue and red markers most of the way.)

We're in the area for a few weeks and found this place researching places to do some walking. Nice boardwalks over marshes and flat trails were a nice way to spend an hour. Also stopped by the small Vereen family cemetery on our way out.

This park is so beautiful, quiet, and relaxing. There are some oyster trees, where people write their names and hang them. There are swings, you could literally sit and swing all day long. There are lots of boats to watch. This is a must see hidden gem, go sit a spell and take in the beautiful area.

We had a very enjoyable time as a family here. We walked all the way down from the parking area on 17, or you could cheat and drive to the bottom. Right on the intracoastal many trails, and lots of crabs and bars to see. Very pleasant experience and will be back soon to check out some other trails. There are port-o-johns on property along with site maps.

Are the Vereen Garden’s trails open during this Covid19 situation??

Yes. Parks are still open for hiking and biking and exercising in Horry County. Going forward I would check with the Horry County Parks and Recreation website to verify.

Is there info on length of each trail

You can pick up a trail map at the office on the left at the entrance. The trails are color coded. The length from the Intracoastal Waterway to the entrance is lengthy. We parked at the deepest parking lot and walked from the waterway to the entrance to get a map. We then walked the trail on the other side of the road back. There are multiple trails, all very nice walks.

It would be easier if I knew where you were coming from, but lets just assume your starting point in the S. Car. Welcome Center on Rt=17 as you head south.. Make U-Turn heading north and within 200 yds you'll see Rt-179 on your right side. Once you turn on 179, look immediately on your right for entrance to Vereen Gardens. If you get to stop sign, you've been too far.
