Attitude Still The Same
May 2015 • Couples
I tried this wine store in their original location in mount pleasant mall next to Belk quite awhile ago and felt the owner to be a snob and not very friendly whatsoever. I saw that they had changed location, now next to the movie theater, and I believe they are now called Wine Cellar. I gave them a another try as I like wine and the location is convenient. The man pouring, not the owner, was very nice and knowledgable. I guess it depends on whose pouring that day. I still got the snooty vibe from the people sampling as well as both the husband and wife owners. We are not in Napa, just Mount Pleasant, where local establishments usually show southern hospitality. Not here. Napa and Sonoma showed me more Southern hospitality than this place. I won't return. The wines are nothing special and you can purchase the same wines at Bottle King or Total Wine for a lot less money.

Wonderful store and wine club
Dec 2014 • Couples
I do not typically write reviews but I saw some of these negative reviews and had to say what a different experience my husband and I have had. We have 2 young children and do not get out much. We wondered into WineStyles about a year ago after a movie. The owner was so pleasant and accomodating. We admitted to being grocery store wine drinkers and he nicely told us about the wine club. Each month you get 2 different bottles of wine along with a description sheet, recipes, and a store discount.
Every month I have gone in to pick our wine, I have had nothing but wonderful and friendly service. The wines are all reasonable priced and and have helped us grocery store wine people appreciate the finer wines! We love supporting a local business and hope for many more successful years for Wine Styles.

Terrible customer service
Jan 2013 • Couples
My wife and I went here about a year ago and as we walked in the store we noticed a couple of people wrapping up what seemed to be a wine tasting. They paid and left leaving us as the only customers in the store. As someone in the wine industry, i was curious what they were sampling and the man at the counter coldly told me it wasnt available for everybody that walks in. Still, we bought a couple wines we knew and left never wanting to come back. Tonight my wife decided to give it another try, since she was already shopping in the area, and happened to come in during a wine tasting. she asked what was happening and the lady very snobbishly made a point to make sure she knew it would be $5 to taste instead of saying hello or welcome to our store. she paid for the tasting but felt ignored during the process. we will never be back.

Nice store, decent selection, cold service

Local customers are the key to a successful business in a tourist town. I've been into WineStyles a total of 3 times. The first time I went into view the store and the selection. I didn't get the "warm and fuzzy" feeling from the gentlemen working (owner), but did not think much of it.

The next time I went into the store was because of a Restaurant.com gift certificate I received. The female working the store was more tolerable then the male working the prior time. However, she talked in a condescending tone when offering advice for my upcoming Napa/Sonoma trip. I basically felt belitted after leaving. Mind you, I bought 4 bottles that day. Needless to say I didn't heed her advice she offered about Napa/Sonoma and had an amazing time anyway.

Lastly, I went into the store on August 18th while my wife shopped at a store next to WineStyles. My less than favorite guy was working (the owner). The greeting was luke warm and so was the poor wines he was offering for his "Five for $5" tasting. I didn't like any of his selections for the tasting and he basically scoffed at my reactions. The owner was more concerned talking about himself and his "dinner club" and previous employtment (CFO of a Winery in Napa). When attempting to make small conversation about my recent trip to Napa/Sonoma the owner was less than interested in making a connection with me (the customer). One would think that if you understood business that good service makes people happy. Happy people spend money. I just can't understand how this store has remand open for as long as it has. CFO's should stay behind a desk pushing pencils and using calculators, not as a face of a business. You can get better selection and feel valued down the road at Bottles in Mt. Pleasant.

Wow - I haven't had a critique like that since my Mother-in-law's last visit - I'm the owner and I'm sorry your expectations were not met - it's unfortunate that you didn't experience all that has made us the go-to wine shop in Mount Pleasant for 4+ years now for customer service, top-notch wine selection and near-legendary weekly wine-tastings. Stop by and ask for me (Joe) or Jackie and we'll see that you don't miss out on your next visit. As for being a former wine industry CFO - sorry - but there's nothing I can do about that.

Great choices of consumer and quality level wines. Reasonable pricing and outstanding service. If you enjoy wine at home, definitely try this shop. Great experience.

A unique Winetasting experience
Went here on a coupon from LivingSocial and we're so glad we did! The shop itself is full of great wines and equally great accessories. The owner was more than accommodating, and the wines available for tasting were great. After you've tasted the wines, you pick the one you liked best and you're given a glass to enjoy as you wander through the shop or sit at one of the bistro tables around the store. Don't miss this place!
