Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Could be the worst golf course I’ve ever played. Fairways are terrible - think washboard, not links, cart paths are falling apart and zero interesting holes, they’re all the same and the “signature” 17 is sad at best. We played 4+ hours and got through 12 holes due to a bachelor party that was allowed to run wild. I wouldn’t go back if someone offered to pay me. To their credit when we complained they did refund our money, but we still wasted a day.

Ultimately I stopped going here because of the price. 100 dollars is just too much to spend playing here, there are plenty of better courses in the Charleston area that provide better value. It's unfortunate that they are not putting more money into their course because it is an amazing location on the water, but the course itself doesn't have much to offer. Don't bother going to the driving range either, I can find better quality golf balls in the bottom of the Charleston Harbor. If they were willing to put money in the right places and invest in the small things I would reconsider playing here again.

Not sure what they are charging $100 for a round. Probably the worst condition golf course I have ever played for $100. They said they were redoing the bunkers but the whole thing needs redone. Sits on a landfill and fairways have bumps in them. Save your money.

Had a tee time on Monday, 4/17/17 with my wife and son, when we arrived at tee box, starter put us behind a fivesome that was walking. He explained they had permission and were fast players. Not so, the first hole was ok, the second hole, we waited while they looked for balls. By the fourth hole the again slowed to look from balls. Our son is a good player and on this par 5 he hit his second shot that rolled to within 30 yds of green. One of the players on the green apparently took offense and began to berate our son, as his words continued to be more heated and profanity laced. He finally challenged our son to " come on up here big boy and l'll take care of you." When our son tried to disengage he continue his tirade. When my wife tried to calm the situation down, she was told that we should not be allowed to play and he was calling police to get us removed. The Club Manager appeared asked us to leave the course and continued the defend the Members, while saying he was not taking sides. The Members continued to play and as we were leaving the course the police arrived. Cooler heads prevailed and the police left. We have played this course 25+ times and will NEVER go back.
Members come first, guests are not really guests and subject to removal at the Members whim. The Members can do and say whatever they want.

Took a beating from Dorian. Workers clearing trees everywhere. Fairways built on channel fill is non uniformly settling. Essentially a “bubble wrap” surface contour. Wife had to walk at times since the up & down motion in the cart made her nauseous. Course in need of renovation. Will not go back until renovated.

First time playing Patriots Point. The course was in good shape overall. Tee boxes provide plenty of length from all of them. Fairways were well maintained. Greens had been punched and sanded in past week or so but they putted true. Staff is friendly and pace of play was very good. I will return for future rounds when visiting the Charleston area.

If you are looking to get out for a round the location is great the course has promise with a few pretty holes and decent routing just in bad condition. Grass very sparse on tee boxes some obvious turf problems content wet fairways have them lumpy and unlevel

I would like to take this opportunity to make sure that the golf course in which I am proud member of is treated fairly. The review from the above customer is false and not a true representation of the events that occurred. The father failed to say that he had to restrain his son and drag him off the green. The golf course and staff did a great job to keep the best interest of all customers and in particular the safety of my group. The customer neglected to mention that the course was full and there was no place for us to go as well as the fact that he threaten our group and deliberately hit golf balls at us. We called both the police and pro shop staff in regards to the matter. The group was escorted off the group by the professional staff and we were able to have a nice round of golf in the expected time of 4 hours. So you need to come out and play THE POINT. Staff is OUTSTANDING, snack bar OUTSTANDING and views of Charleston, breathe taking…..

If visiting in summer, go early in the day and bring water. It gets a little warm in the submarine and hot on the decks of the boats (like you would expect). We had young children (2&5) They did ok, but only lasted a little over an hour. We would have liked to have spent a lot more time here. We will return when they are older or go when they are not with us. There is so much interesting facts to read and things to see. Veterans are there to answer questions and help in anyway you could think. We went a few days after D-Day, it was emotional seeing the flag that was flown on the USS LAFFEY on D-Day on display. If you have any American Pride, you won't be disappointed.

Day trip from Columbia, SC. Easy drive, easy to find. Well posted for signage. Senior discount $16/each. Nice gift shop, clean bathrooms. 3 main vessels to see. The USS Clagmore sub, USS Laffey destroyer and the USS Yorktown aircraft carrier. They suggest to start with the sub first, destroyer 2nd and then the Yorktown. If short on time, Yorktown first. All are WWII vintage, but the Yorktown was decommissioned in 1970 and the Laffey in 1975. Watch the video in the gun turrett on the Laffey. It shakes you (physically and emotionally). Pretty basic, self-guided tours on all. Guided tours are available for free w/admission. Just meet at the posted area. Lots of low areas and steep stairs to go thru. They do have an elevator on the Yorktown. Flight deck on Yorktown is so huge it's hard to take it all in. Good overall, lots of aircraft from different eras to see on flightdeck and main hangar bays. We were also able to walk the docks and look at all of the personal boats moored there. Great view of the huge + beautiful Arthur Ravenel Jr. bridge as you cross from Charleston to Mt. Pleasant. Watch in the harbor for freighters as they unload at the massive cranes.
