Hurricane Matthew destroyed most of the pier. The remaining section of the pier and the adjacent motel (that owns it) were closed for repairs in mid-November. The pier needs to be completely rebuilt. The adjacent beach is open, free of debris, and makes for a pleasant stroll..

Went to Myrtle Beach for Thanksgiving weekend, the Springmaid Pier is close to where we stayed. It was nearly 100% demolished by last months storm. I'm sure for tourism, it will be rebuilt soon.

One of the last standing piers on the beach, this is a great one. The views down the Strand are fabulous and it's well worth the price of admission to take a walk.

Precious memories. The annual family reunion that almost happened ... just wasn't to be. My husband got to fish twice in the 30 hours we were there. Yes! Sweet Memories!

This pier was destroyed by Hurricane Matthew. I'm sure it will be rebuilt soon, but if you are planning a trip and enjoyed this pier in the past, it is no longer. For now.

This is the best place in Myrtle Beach that we have found in years. The staff are wonderful and caring. The main people make sure that you are looked after. We have stayed there for 10 years or more. They have coffee, tea 24 seven. The breakfast is included with your stay.If you are looking for a great place to... More
