Everyone misses it. To be rebuilt was the last word that people were told by the Hilton Group. The Springmaid Resort was purchased by them & we need this pier, as it has always been a landmark at the South End of Myrtle Beach. Karen...More

This photo is misleading; over half of the pier in this photo was destroyed by a storm and has not been rebuilt. At mid-tide, the pier does not extend past the surf line so fishing from the pier would not be possible.

Ever since the new owners acquired Springmaid Beach Resort the place is a total disappointment. After the last storm most of the pier was destroyed and it is a sad reminder of what a great place it was in he past.

Was a nice long pier but 75% destroyed by Hurricane Matthew..no open and may never be rebuilt. When you see how much damage a hurricane can do to a pier it is enough to make you think of its horrible force.

We love to walk and always had plenty to see along the way. Bathrooms were at the both piers . Plenty of shopping on the streets between both piers.

This was always our go to pier and we always made a trip each visit. So sad to see it destroyed. Hoping they decide to rebuild in the future.
