If you only see one show... this is the one! "Top Attraction in Myrtle Beach" according to CNBC! The Carolina Opry has won every major South Carolina tourism award including Most Outstanding Attraction and the prestigious Governor's Cup. And it's the only show that has been featured on NBC Nightly News, CNN, TNN, and USA Today, which called it "A Big Hit". The New York Post called it "A Hot Ticket".Entertainer and entrepreneur Calvin Gilmore launched The Carolina Opry on South Carolina's Grand Strand in 1986. His live music variety show features a cast of 36 of the nation's top singers, dancers, comedians and musicians in its own 2200-seat show palace with state-of-the-art sound and lighting and three giant video screens. The show, which is continually updated with new music and comedy, is two hours of high energy entertainment that blends humor and dancing with everything from rock 'n roll, Broadway and country to classic hits, pop melodies and gospel.Young and old are counted among its fans who are sure to include a performance in their visit to Myrtle Beach. In November and December the theater is transformed into a winter wonderland where the magic of the season comes alive in The Carolina Opry Christmas Special a wonderfully dazzling, jolly and sentimental musical celebration of America's best-loved holiday..

We went to the musical review of the 60's, 70's, and 80's. It was very good and it reminded me of the musical reviews we have seen on cruise ships. I noticed in the program notes that several of the singers, dancers, and musicians had...More

We attended the Time Warp program and it was outstanding! The music and dancers were fabulous. My favorite was the many performances by "All That" cloggers. They are the best! I have attended many other shows at The Carolina Opry and have never been disappointed.

Loved the live entertainment the night we came here. The 50's and 60's theme. The singers were great as well as the costumes. Fun place to visit.

Saw the time warp show. Music was excellent, the performance was excellent, my seat was 2nd row, and the snacks and drinks inside were very reasonably priced. Factor in the low price of the show and it was a great bargain!

This is home to various show productions. We saw "Time Warp" which features songs from the 60s,70s, and 80s. The entertainers are very talented and high energy. This can be considered a family show if you have younger chldren.

My wife and I attend the Christmas Show every year. Always a joy. A wonderful show, but the finale with Rita Gumm singing "He's Alive" brings the house down.

I was a little apprehensive, especially being a "northerner," but this was a very entertaining show. Everyone on stage was very talented, great voices, and the dancers were really fun to watch. It is obviously focused on country/western, but there is enough variety to entertain...More

Both sets of seats are on opposite ends of row 1. So you will have a side ways view of the stage. I have never preferred front row unless it is a concert where you can stand, sing and gyrate. Not so in this theater. Seats... More
