We love camping in Eastern South Carolina and love kayaking. Givhan's Ferry is all over the Internet as Colleton SP's sister park for kayakers. You know how they say sisters can be opposites? Colleton is a smaller park, but run very well under the supervision of a very efficient ranger. Givhan's Ferry is a very large property with beautiful historic... More

We stayed here before hurricane Matthew came through so our stay was cut short. It is a very nice campground with roomy sites and very clean bathrooms. The hosts (daytime and nite-time) were very helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed kayaking on the river. The only drawback was that we had no cell coverage with AT&T. They have free wifi... More

I loved this park. The camping area was just fine for me. I had site 17 but would try to get one with more shade during the summer. I loved all of the wildlife including an owl, turtle, frogs, and one unwanted copperhead that showed up in my site around 3 in the afternoon. The camp host came and removed... More

Quiet place. Mostly level gravel sites ours had full hookups with 30 amp service. Somewhat limited cell service, and the only wifi was at the pavilion - did not try it. Over the air tv was okay.

Set along the Edisto River, this park has much to offer. RV and primitive camping. Rustic cabins. Access for canoeing and kayaking. Most impressive is the Riverfront Hall on a bluff above the river. Built in the 1930s by the CCC, this building has a plantation home look on the inside and a fine wood paneling and roof interior. Accommodates... More

poison ivy/oak everywhere around the camping area, deep holes in road around campground, heavy overhanging brush and trees --- scratched RV, poor design---not enough room to back in. We saw one man finally give up after 40 minutes. Bath house never cleaned in 2 days. Bath house lights --- only one worked. NEVER go here

We stopped by this state park and looked around for something to do because, after all, when you stop to get the stamp you should do something significant. Turns out, they have a 1.5 mile nature trail. Well, we entered from what seemed like the "end" of the near-loop trail. And it was. But it took quite a bit of... More

On any given weekend in the summer this is float trip central. A veritable city of floaters will sometimes be boarding with their unbelievable floating devices. The wildlife in the area combined with the bluffs and marsh views makes this place one that you do not want to miss. River floats not your thing - this place features great camping,... More
