The fort and battery are very interesting and love the scenery around it. But beware, wear insect repellent. We had to hurry around to see it because the bugs are so bad.

This place is a little spooky and very interesting. The graffiti and glass on the ground is upsetting but we enjoyed our visit.

I read the stories of the haunting experiences with this place, and had to go. It was an old fort constructed to protect Parris Island. Originally it was much bigger. There are warning signs about the dangers of visiting this location; I would recommend heeding...More

I have been wanting to see this historic site for sometime. We took the beautiful drive out to the fort. It’s a self guided tour of a Spanish American war relic and where it sits has a beautiful view. Well worth the stop. Have fun.

This is one amazingly spooky cool ruin built into the side of a mound of earthen breastworks. There is a beautiful little beach right on Port Royal sound directly in front of fort. A little out of the way, but well worth the effort.

No cost. This site is not active with guides. It's open with few signs. Suggest doing history on net before seeing it for better understanding the Fort.
