This is one of the worst beaches I have been to in my life. First you must walk through a mile of swamp to get to the beach! They need to build bridges for public access so you don't have to do that or at...More

Very nice, wide beach, clean and great views during sunset. However there are only 3 handicapped parking spots and 3 non handicapped parking spots. Too many restrictions on what side you can park on. I completely understand why people pay to go to Isle of...More

Probably because we went after Labor Day... but there was low traffic at the beach, and the surf was very light. The gentle waves and soft sand for a great way for our child to experience his first beach day.

Came here watch the Eclipse and had a great experience. A+ by the city for handling all of the added people and traffic. We had a great experience at the beach. The water appears rough which was good for the kids on boogie boards but...More

Nice quiet beach but parking is limited and there are no facilities. Great for hiking and looking for sea shells. The water looks dirty but is refreshing.

The beach is quiet, and at high tide relatively narrow. The water in early August was incredibly warm. There are some sand bars, and the shelf is pretty wide, so there's plenty of room for everyone. No waves to speak of - just lapping water....More

This is my favorite beach. Never crowed and easy to access. This is a beautiful beach to walk on as well. When I lived in Charleston this is where I would come to go to the beach. I miss being able to drive here whenever...More

This beach offers remarkably clean sand, free of shells, rocks, or other debris hard on feet. The soft sandy bottom is great to wade into. Good for kids because waves are small but keep an eye on the undertow. Is surprisingly strong.

I visited on a Saturday in early June. It was a bit of a challenge to find parking, but I eventually found something just a block off of the beach. The beach itself was clean and not too crowded. We walked to lunch at one...More

I have not found any but I also park at station 23 so there could be more further down. I think most people have lunch either in the middle of their trip or right before so they use the restaurants bathroom.

Yes we have gone there in December and was able to wade in the water. Beautiful place. I like the Isle Of Palms better it has more restaurants. We always park by the lighthouse to access the beach.

There is swimming along most of the ocean facing beach. Stay clear of the far ends of the islands because of currents. You should try to plan your first visit at low tide to get a good understanding of the extent of the... More
