The Hungry Detective enjoyed an afternoon stroll on the beach adjacent to Fort Moultrie. Great views of Charleston and had a special cruise ship sighting as it arrived at the port. Lots of wild life and shells make SI beaches special. Lots of history in...More

There's not much not to love about Sullivan's beach unless of course you are in search of large crowds. The lack of parking spots if you are visiting from off the island could make visiting the beach a challenge. If you are staying on the...More

This is a great beach to walk around on and enjoy the sunset. Sullivan's Island in general is a pleasant place to be.

Finding a place to park can be difficult, but once you hit the beach you will know it was worth it. Romping dogs, circling seabirds, happy people everywhere. A great blue heron watched us from a little hill. A lovely escape!

Very quiet, clean, wide beach, which is nice. It would be a great place to fly a kite since it's so wide. But can't give a beach 4 or 5 stars when it doesn't have amenities like a restroom, pavilion if you need break from...More

Had a great visit to this non crowded beach on a beautiful day. It helped that it was a high 70s temp weekday in November and the beach was nearly deserted. I'm sure it is very different during the height of the tourist season. Stroll...More

Beautiful beach on Sullivan's Island. We stopped here twice during our trip. Parked a couple of blocks away. Not too crowded.

Quiet. Private with beach access by the lighthouse. Nearby locally owned restaurants and pubs are great! Occasional horseshoe crab remnants on the beach are interesting.

If you simply looking to catch some days and enjoy the scenery and solitude, this is the place for you. Pack a lunch and bring your chair. This is just beach and waves.

Wide beach great for walking. Dogs allowed in the morning before 10 in the summer, noon in the winter. A good view of the shipping channel. Not much shelling, but very clean.

I have not found any but I also park at station 23 so there could be more further down. I think most people have lunch either in the middle of their trip or right before so they use the restaurants bathroom.

Yes we have gone there in December and was able to wade in the water. Beautiful place. I like the Isle Of Palms better it has more restaurants. We always park by the lighthouse to access the beach.

There is swimming along most of the ocean facing beach. Stay clear of the far ends of the islands because of currents. You should try to plan your first visit at low tide to get a good understanding of the extent of the... More
