The Akta Lakota Museum is excellent in every aspect: educational, cultural, and artistic. The museum excels in telling the story of the Lakota - we were very moved and stayed all morning to view all of the exhibits and read the accompanying information.More

Always enjoy visiting this museum with its displays, artifacts, etc. Very worthwhile to learn about Lakota culture. A step back in time worth exploring.

The museums provided much history about the Lakota Indians and the school. There were interactive exhibits that I participated in. There was an art exhibit by Indian artists

There was so much to see and learn about the Lakota Sioux! The trip included a tour of the school and Indian children's rooms at the St Joseph's School!! The annual PowWow occurred when we were there!!More

I found this exhibit well organized and excellantlly presented. This makes for a nice surprisingly interesting and pleasant stop as you move on down the highway. I particularly liked the timeline and the student artistic input.

You should allow yourself at least 60-90 minutes to see the museum. This includes an optional 22-minute film on the 'People of the Plains' shown in our theater.
