Don't miss a visit here! Lots of history and information above/beyond the 'celebrity' gravesites of Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. The cemetery visit is super cheap (like, $2 per person) so it won't break the bank. Word of warning--a lot of uphill walking is involved,...More

After eating a wonderful lunch it was time for a walk. This cemetery is obviously very old but is well maintained. It's interesting to walk amongst the historical markers.

Visit Will Bill Hickock's grave; Calamity Jane, see graves of people that died during the outbreak of plague; many interesting people in that cemetery. The place is on a hill so walking can be a challenge but the main road in is paved and the...More

The whole place is built up around Wild Bill, so why not take it all the way to the end. Very pleasant well maintained cemetery. Nice peaceful walk to their last resting place and a very respectful display. The cemetery charges a small entry fee...More

Spent an hour walking about the tombstones of this fascinating old cemetery. Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane are buried there and the stories and legends are all too real. Close by to the other sites of Deadwood, within an easy 5 minute walk.

The Mount Moriah Cemetery is toured on foot. Deadwood lies in a very steep valley. Visitors need to be prepared to do some pretty significant urban hiking to get to Wild Bill and Calamity Jane. Be prepared for VERY significant hiking at altitude to get...More

I thought this visit to a cemetery would be interesting but I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. The views from the top are definitely worth the climb. Take your hiking boots and a camera.

The entire cemetery is on a hillside. The walkways can be steep, but much of it is paved, so perhaps a wheelchair could be used.

I haven't been in winter, but I can tell you the road to get up to the cemetery was a small winding road so if there is snow or ice, it would probably be treacherous. I've just moved to MT from the South and it seems that... More

We did not take it, but there is a tour bus that makes the trip there. However it is right in town, and there is plenty of free parking at the cemetery.
