This was my 3rd night on a 16 day tour of the National Parks I was doing with Cosmos. First let me say we all loved the town of Deadwood, plenty of shops and casinos on the main... read more

We were staying in a suite (4 women). It was wonderful as they had 2 big beds in one room with a couch, 2 chairs, desk, in a sitting room. Both rooms had tv's. Because it had once been adjoining rooms, we had 2 bathrooms, closet, full refrigerator, microwave. We also had some luck in their gaming facilities. Their breakfast... More

This was my 3rd night on a 16 day tour of the National Parks I was doing with Cosmos. First let me say we all loved the town of Deadwood, plenty of shops and casinos on the main street in downtown. The hotel was nice but an awkward layout, we were in building #3 and to eat at the hotel... More

This hotel is at the far north end of town as you enter from either US 85 or 14. Good parking area, which is difficult to find in Deadwood. Small casino also inside. Town Trolley stops in front, only a $1 per ride.

What a wonderful place to stay when you are planning a trip to Deadwood SD. We stayed here for 8 days as our hub for the fantastic motorcycle riding and all the sights SD has to offer. This hotel was located centrally for day trips to all the great sights, such as Mt Rushmore, Devils Tower, The Badlands ect. This hotel... More

Check-in could be better marked as to where to go! We had to search to find it. Checked in and went over to the building that we were staying in and the room keys didn't work - they were coded for the wrong building - frustrating after a long day of driving. Hotel was very clean, and quiet. Housekeeping staff... More

We spent 3 nights at First Gold during Wild Bill Days in June. The staff was accommodating and the room was a good size and had several extras. On Sunday morning the housekeeping staff was, of course, especially busy. I saw our maid in the hall and told her that she didn't have to clean our room (we were staying... More

Pleasantly surprised with this hotel. Pros: inexpensive, very very clean, casino on site, covered parking garage, friendly staff. Cons: about a 10 minute walk into downtown Deadwood, no balconies off the rooms, our room was directly on the parking garage👎🏼, the buffet is just mediocre--luckily there are great restaurants in town!

The room was very comfortable. The shower is small. Buffet was good for price. I read the other reviews and walking to different buildings was easy in the summer. They also provide a ride back and forth if you don't want to walk in a large golf cart type vehicle. Good value. Not walkable to historic deadwood.
