Experience our award-winning wines in a fun and relaxed setting in the heart of the Black Hills. Find us three miles northwest of Hill City on Highway 385, just a few miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial and Crazy Horse Memorial. We’re Hill City’s only working winery and Sandi Vojta, our fifth generation winemaker, handcrafts each wine, often using old family recipes, just a few steps from our Tasting Room. Start your Prairie Berry Winery experience with a free wine tasting of up to five of our award-winning wines, including our Anna Pesa handcrafted traditional European wines, at our Tasting Bars. We produce a variety of wines in styles for every palate – from crisp, dry wines and robust, oak-aged reds to sweet, fruity varieties. Our Kitchen offers housemade menu items including gluten-free, vegetarian and kids’ options. Menu selections pair perfectly with our wines, vary with the season and many of our ingredients are sourced locally. Enjoy a meal on our patio with our beautiful views of Black Elk Peak (formerly Harney Peak). Our brewery, Miner Brewing Company, is located next door.

Many selections, sweet to dry Red-A$$ Rhubarb is the best, many others are damn good. Staff knows what they sell and can guide you if you have preferences. Have been here twice before and will be back again.

We loved it for the food and the setting. Gorgeous room, clever play area for kids, really nice menu for lunch or a light dinner. The wines are all fruit wines with a few grape wines - some nice enough, nothing special.

We went to three wine tasting ventures on our trip to the Black Hills this year. Prairie Berry Winery was the best experience by far. The place was the biggest of the three for wine tasting and the most friendly and knowledgeable staff. One winery...More

We Always enjoy Prairie Berry a winery and today was no exception. Found a couple new wines we liked. Decided on the way to do lunch there. This was way overpriced. I mean I know it’s a wine experience, but that’s just crazy. It was...More

We were desperate for a change in pace from usual dining out fare in the Black Hills (so many bison burgers!) so we decided to visit for a late lunch with our two boys (5 and 8). We did the wine samples and then ordered...More

Great question! We allow dogs to join well-behaved owners on either of our patios, but due to health codes, we do not allow pets inside the building.
