Didn’t make it to the Badlands last trip out here. Beautiful Rock` formations. The great thing about the Badlands is you can visit during just about any weather conditions since much can be seen from your vehicle. But don’t miss some great photo opportunities by getting out and walking a little.

Spent a afternoon in the Badlands this past September...we had limited time seeing the sites so will have to go back sometime in the future. The scenery of the Badlands is some of the most spectacular i have ever seen...it is as impressive as the Grand Canyon plus you can not only, walk around an the high ridges, but drive down to the floor of the ridges and hike all over where you get a real feel for the amazing topography . The grasslands were large and we happen to see a few of the resident Bison's.. We were there at sunset and i have never seen such a beautiful site...i have lived on both the Atlantic Ocean and now on the Gulf of Mexico which have beautiful sunrises and sunsets, but the sunset we witness at the Badlands was one of the most awe inspiring sunsets i have ever seen. I will be reviewing the other places we visited also..Both my daughter and I highly recommend at least a full day thou...Weather wise we had perfect days...started out cool in the mornings but reached the low 70's in the afternoon

Excellent scenic day trip from Rapid City. Be aware of limited services and food options, especially if you return on the southern road and not I-90.

It's the number one tourist spot to visit in SD for a reason - it's awesome. If you love the outdoors, beautiful scenery, selfies, photo shoots, and wild animals then don't miss a day spent here. We loved all the different mountain rock formations and colors. When we were driving out many people were still coming in to see the area during the low sun and sunset.
