When I move to this area, I had never heard of Spearfish Canyon. But with waterfalls, a beautiful drive and some incredible hiking, it has quickly become one of my favorite places. My recommendation: do some hiking and then stop for some Cherry Berry FroYo.

This is truly the most beautiful place in the Black Hills and is a unique drive every time. As the seasons change this place morphs and changes as well. A must see that doesn't take long at all and will always be worth it.

We were told to take the ride up the canyon as it is older than the Grand. We were not dissapointed. We stopped at many of the turn-out and took in the sights. At one spot we thought about cooling our feet as we sat until we dipped our hands in first. The feet stayed warm in our shoes. Wonderfully... More

This is a great cruise, scenic, outdoorsy area. If you have the time it's a must see. So many places to pull off and hike, enjoy the water, enjoy the scenery. Really awesome during the fall color changes of the leaves.

First of all, visit the foothills town of Spearfish (entry to Spearfish Canyon) which has many walking/bike paths, city golf, city parks next to Spearfish creek, interesting shopping, tasty food places, opry house, college and so much more. Then into winding Spearfish Canyon with pull-overs, hiking paths, trout fishing in Spearfish Creek, waterfalls, astounding wooded cliffs, beautiful fall colors, great... More

Spearfish Canyon is beautiful no matter what season you're travelling through this scenic drive. In the summer you can enjoy Roughlock Falls, a beautiful accessible trail leads to this roaring waterfall. In the fall, the aspen trees turn color and again, the twisting drive with the rock formations and fall trees are a sight to behold. This is a beautiful... More

Spearfish Canyon is a must to see if you are in the area. It is one of the best kept secrets in America for a family or naturalist to visit year round.
