What a beautiful island. The tour started with a stop at the reef to snorkel. There were lots of beautiful fish (well the barracuda was not so beautiful). Then we headed to Isla Contoy. It was breathtaking. Beautiful shallow, sandy beach, a look out with openings on the way up the staircase for different views of the island, then at... More

We visited Isla Contoy as part of a snorkeling trip. I don't think I have been anywhere as beautiful. The sand was so white and soft, the water was crystal clear with no sea weed. I didn't want to leave Thomas out tour guide was very knowledgeable and friendly. Would love to go back one day.

We booked a tour from Cancun and arrived by boat after a 55 minute ride. Although the boat ride was somewhat rough we arrived at the beautiful tranquil island. Only 200 people are allowed on this federal reserve each day. Upon arrival a guide took us snorkeling. We saw so many beautiful fish...a large nurse shark, 2 large barracudas, large... More

We booked a snorkeling and island tour in March 2014. The boat ride to this island was long (about 1.5 hours) and rough. It's not for the fainted heart, but my 10-yrs old daughter has no problem with the boat ride. The snorkel at the natural reef was not that good, because we went on the day right after a... More

This was the highlight of my trip. It's a protected island so you can only see 10% on a day trip but that's what makes it special. One of the most beautiful beaches I've been to and really interesting on the conservation side. Take mossie spray though... they are vicious!

My favourite part of my trip to Mexico. First of all it is a natural treasure as not many people visit it, it is also small and has a verity of animals. The view is truly breathtaking and unique. This island is perfect to simply relax and enjoy life.

We booked a trip here through Thomson while staying at Grand Bahia Principe Akumal and they use Ocean Tours who are based at several Caribbean locations. The first issue for me was the fact that the continental breakfast had nothing that was gluten free except fruit despite the Thomson rep telling them I required food. The other issue that is...
