A definite must do. This place is literally paradise. We went snorkelling too prior to arriving on the island which was amazing but a word of warning....the steps to get back on to the boat are a little tricky.

This island was beautiful, especially the beach and dock. We took a day excursion over from Puerto Juarez in Cancun. The views were beautiful, and the hermit crabs and iguanas were very interesting. Although we primarily came to the island to visit the many birds that allegedly migrate to the island, we only say frigates, lots and lots of frigates.... More

Beautiful island experience. This is a scenic trip not a party trip, FYI. Please make sure you walk down to the lagoon to observe the frigate birds nesting.

We were picked up and dropped off to the port to catch the ferry over to contoy island given coffee and cake and juice before getting on the boat ride is an hour to contoy the first thing you'll see is the birds flying over head very much like an experience from Jurassic park we had some free time before... We had a great day here. It is a remote deserted natural park island where only 200 people are allowed per day. You have to bring bio degradable sunscreen and mosquito repellent and this was checked by a park guard. There are nesting turtles. The sea is beautifully clear. We saw sting ray swimming right up to the beach. As... More

July 2015 visit. While I do recommend visiting Isla Contoy, pack plenty of water and sunscreen. The tour company who boated us to the island was fantastic, very friendly and helpful, and they cooked us a GREAT lunch. The island itself is very cool to check out, but the exploration is limited. This isn't a bad thing, as it is... More

This place is beyond words. It is beautiful. It is completely untouched and the animals on this island are in their natural habitat which is beautiful to watch. You can find a lot of birds, crabs, iguinas, mantas, fish. It is amazing. We got a tour about the island and it's animals. I'd highly recommend going to the view tour... More

This island was the second stop of a tour with Isla Contour blue caribe. The first was snorkeling, the second at Isla Contoy and the final stop Isla Mujeres. The best part of the trip was time spent on Isla Contoy. The boat was packed with 30 plus people (cattle boat) which we were advised it was not. The snorkeling... More

I'm not sure what went wrong for us on this trip, we may have just had different expectations. I went on this with my daughter (15yo at the time) and prior to leaving on the holiday we'd done a fair bit or research to find the day tours that would best suit us. We chose this as it was meant... Take a boat trip to this beautiful paradise island, only 150 visitors allied at any one time. The sand is pale and fine and the water is warm. Not as many fish to see as I expected. Don't walk to the mangrove swamp in the morning - eaten alive by horrible flies!! 😫 The boat made anchor on the way... More
