Clear winter day and perfect to view town below. I can only imagine the fear, desperation and prayers that were coming from that location on November 30th, 1865. Short walk up the hill tells the story and fate finished it. Worth going there.

Overlooks the Battle of Franklin battlefield occupied by confederate forces. Has monuments to each southern state that furnished soldiers to General Hood Tennessee forces

Great for any civil war enthusiast the monuments here are remembrances from the states that sent sons against the fortifications at Franklin there are also the stones dedicated to the generals that gave their lives here as well including Patrick Cleburne the Irish born stonewall...More

A must see if your in Franklin. This site lays out the battle of Franklin and and explains how the battle was fought and the aftermath that followed. It's free and a nice place to spend an afternoon.

I would not put it up with the major battleships, so visit just for a picnic park or if you are really interested in delving into all the local battles of the civil war.
