Built in 1929, The Factory occupies the buildings that once served as the Dortch Stove Works, Magic Chef and later the Jamison Bedding Company. A member of the National Register of Historic Places, The Factory is rich with history and a very careful renovation has preserved many of The Factory's original features and architectural details. Calvin bought the sprawling complex seven years ago and, after an environmental clean-up, began opening the facility in sections. Today, The Factory at Franklin has 83 tenants. Imagine that factory coming alive with concerts, dining, shopping, meetings, live theatre, art galleries, decorators' showcases, antiques and offices. Our unique facility can serve all this and more. Take a look at The Factory in its days as a bustling, working factory, then embark on a photographic tour of its renovation and transformation to the diverse and vibrant shopping and entertainment complex it is today.

This place is pretty cool to browse in, there are tons of stores, just do not go on a Sunday. They aren't all open.

It could be the time of year, but many stores were closed. Not much to see! Would not recommend for this time of year.

This little mall in its self is not that special. But inside I was pleasantly surprised by the great service I got at 2 little shops. Nature Art had a delightful assortment of cute little trinkets. I purchased some lovely purple Swarovski earrings for only $15. I collect items for my fairy garden and they several items I had never... More

I had been to the Factory several years ago and really enjoyed the shops. This trip was a different story. Many of the shops weren't all that nice and there just didn't seem to be much there anymore. I'm not sure I will go back.

Sorry your recent visit didn’t live up to the one from several years ago. We are in the midst of a big transition, with three new restaurants launching soon and many new and upcoming maker/vendor retail launches, several in currently empty spaces. At the same time, we get that not every destination suits every eye, but we appreciate your coming... More

This is a great place to find unique items and stores that reflect that TN funk. But most of them are closed on Sunday's, which was the only day we had to show our house guest this interesting place.

Thanks for the positive feedback! We'd recommend calling ahead to the stores you'd like to visit before coming as they all make their own hours! More

My wife and I attended the Made South event at The Factory this past weekend and loved it. Not only was The Factory a great location for the Made South event, but the many other shops were great to visit as well.

We thought this place was very unique and fun. Cute shops in there. Didn't realize that the farmers market was only on Saturdays but that is understandable. It might be more fun when that is going on. All and all we were glad we stopped though.

So many different options...everyone can find something they like. Juice bar, coffee bar, carnivore shop, art, jewelry, antiques and much more.

Interesting place to visit and walk around. I've been there a couple times to attend the Music City Roots show on Wednesday evenings. I'm not a shopper so visiting the stores holds little appeal but it was entertaining to see the old factory and how it's been renovated to its current use.
