The Abraham Lincoln Library and Museum is a department of Lincoln Memorial University and one of the largest Lincoln and related Civil War collections in the country. It is a mixture of history and art collections that focus on Abraham Lincoln and his over 150 year legacy. Several galleries rotate during the winter months. Weekday hours are 10 to 5; Saturday's noon to 5 and most Sundays 1 to 5. We close during the school year with schools academic calendar. Please see our web page or Facebook for updated information.

The Museum is open seven days a week from March through November and only closes Sundays during the winter.

I have been coming to the area for over 30 years and never visited this museum. So much information and very educational. They were doing some renovations but it was still worth the small fee to get in.

We spent an hour or so looking through the Lincoln Museum at Lincoln Memorial University. There are several very interesting exhibits although the museum could use a lot more authentic items. This is a good place to spend a rainy afternoon and to expand one's information on Lincoln. .

Amazing museum dedicated to our 16th president and a nice audio tour around different stations within the museum tells of the life and accomplishments that he had....A must see for everyone passing through harrogate or visiting LMU

There are a lot of paintings, sculptures, and a few dioramas, that are used to introduce Lincoln as a man. The only fact we learned here was that he was seated in a rocking chair when he was shot. A new exhibit was being installed during the week we visited so no entry fee was charged. If you are in... More

We thought it was odd to have a Lincoln museum in a Confederate State, but when I asked one of the museum employees about it, he said that Harrogate was very supportive of the Union during the Civil War. The museum is part of the university campus in Harrogate. It's a small, unique museum which has some interesting items. I... More

The cashier and apparently only staff member was not friendly. The bathroom's soap dispensar and the hand sanitizer station did not work in the lady's room. The carpet was "buckled up" to where there was a lot of tripping potential. The good points of the museum was that there was a lot of info of it was arranged nicely.

This museum has the fifth largest collection of President Lincoln artifacts. The museum is nicely done. It's also close to his birthplace. To learn more about our President, I highly recommend you visit.

We thought this presidential library was one of the best. We will visit the Hoover Library in West Branch IO next week and then we will have been at all of them! Really. Yes, all of them. Why the best? The overall presentation was designed to keep your interest as well as inform in depth about one of the key... More
