Stoped mid afternoon and found not much happening. A few restaurants and a couple of stores, which did not interest my wife or me. Some of the places were not open, but this was early February so I may have to give it another chance.

Market Square is great for people watching, shopping, dining, happy hour, farmer's market and festivals and bands that play during summer months.

Used to live in Knoxville for many years, but was just recently back for a weekend. Market Square has really flourished in recents years with so many restaurants, bars and shops now. A great addition to the downtown and definitely an anchor for activity.

Market Square does have a few unique restaurants and some that are very average or below average. The biggest issue is the amount of homeless that hang around the area and harass the people that are downtown for an evening out. There are many more...More

Tons of decent restaurants with a shopping in and around the square. Something for everyone regardless of taste or budget. First Fridays are a hoot. Very safe,

As far as I know, they are. I have not heard otherwise. If you have a restaurant in mind, you might want to double check with that individual restaurant.
