A lovely little green space

I see this little park on a regular basis, as it borders the Y where I work out. The park is clean and well-maintained. I like the way they have left the edge a bit natural, with plenty of Queen Anne's Lace and other wildflowers growing there. I'm happy to see that the park is actually used; most of the time, I see folks there when I'm driving past. There's a nice walking trail, too. Across the street, the park consists of ball fields, flanked by attractive buildings and real trees - yes, you can actually park in the shade. Thank you, City of Knoxville, for making good use of our tax dollars.

Great ball park!
Aug 2016 • Couples
I visited the park to watch a family member play ball and was concerned about the location at first, but once there, it was a great ball park. The park has excellent facilities for multiple games that run concurrent and the park is in fantastic condition. The fields are immaculate and well cared for. The stands and dugouts are all fantastic and they have special warm up locations to keep stray throws and errant balls from hitting any fans. It was a great experience.

Vastly improved in the last few years

I lived nearby Caswell Park in the historic Park Ridge neighborhood for many years. The site held the ball fields used by the City leagues. It was always maintained and clean; however, I applaud the City for the restoration and rehabilitation of this site, which is beautiful and a nice gift to the good people of Northeast Knoxville. I wish that Knoxville had been smart enough to keep the K-Jays, who used to play just across the street in the good old days.

Smoky Mountain Senior Softball Tournament
Jun 2016 • Friends
The Smoky Mountain Senior Softball Classic was held in Maryville and Knoxville, Tennessee on June 10 through June 12. There were so many teams represented that games had to be played at many venues in both cities. Our team was fortunate to be able to play all of our games at Caswell Park in Knoxville. I have played at many parks in different southern states and this park is at the top of my list. It is near downtown Knoxville and the interstate but there is very little traffic near the park.
The park itself is gorgeous with a shaded mall entrance and plenty of benches and seating in the shade. The pavilion has four sides facing four fields. The pavilion has a covered veranda with rocking chairs. Between games it is a great place to relax in the shade. The fields are the most level and give the truest bounce I have experienced on natural turf. The infields are hard and fast. The dugouts are twice as large as many I have seen and afforded plenty of room for 14 adult men softball players. If you get a chance to bring your team to Knoxville, I highly recommend Caswell Park.
